1. What REPRISE does

REPRISE is a browser extension that lets you save web pages together with information needed to resume your work, organize saved pages, restore browser-window sessions, and recover from accidental tab loss.

2. Information processed

When you save a page, REPRISE may process its URL, title, favicon, metadata description, selected text, section heading, scroll position, and a text-fragment URL. It also stores your own notes, tags, categories, project names, priorities, status labels and next actions. If you choose to capture a screenshot, it stores a compressed image of the visible tab; screenshots may include information shown on that page.

When you explicitly save a browser session, REPRISE records the HTTP(S) tabs in the selected window or windows, including URLs, titles, pinned status and tab-group information. For its local session-recovery feature, REPRISE also automatically records the URLs and tab arrangement of ordinary HTTP(S) browser windows approximately every five minutes while Chrome and the extension are running. These automatic snapshots remain in the local browser profile. This feature is not a general browsing-history import, does not read cookies or passwords, and does not monitor page clicks or typed form fields.

3. Why this information is used

The information is used only to provide REPRISE’s visible features: saved-page organization, search, reopening links, attempting to restore reading position, session restoration, local backup and recovery, and optional encrypted synchronization. Categories are suggested using rules processed locally; no external AI service is contacted.

4. Where information is stored

By default, saved pages, sessions, local backups and screenshots are stored in the browser’s local extension storage. REPRISE retains up to three recent local library backups, three recent window-recovery snapshots, and up to 25 screenshots. Deleted bookmarks remain in the trash until you empty the trash or permanently delete them. Locally stored information is not encrypted by REPRISE, and people with access to your browser profile or device may potentially access it. Removing the extension typically deletes its local storage.

5. Optional Chrome Sync

REPRISE does not operate its own cloud server or require a REPRISE account. If you explicitly choose to upload a backup using the optional encrypted-sync feature, it encrypts supported bookmarks, notes and session information in the browser using AES-256-GCM and a key derived from your passphrase using PBKDF2-SHA-256 before storing the encrypted result via Chrome’s sync storage. The encrypted data is then handled by Chrome/Google’s synchronization services under their policies. You must initiate upload and download manually. Your passphrase is not stored by REPRISE. Screenshots and the trash are excluded from this sync feature, and Chrome Sync has size limits. Losing the passphrase can make encrypted backups unrecoverable.

6. Sharing, selling and advertising

REPRISE does not sell user data, display personalized advertisements, or include third-party analytics trackers. The extension does not transmit your saved pages, screenshots or browsing activity to a server controlled by the REPRISE publisher. Optional encrypted synchronization uses Google’s Chrome Sync infrastructure only when initiated by you.

7. Your choices and deletion

You may edit or delete saved entries, restore or empty the trash, remove sessions, export the data to JSON, import a backup, and remove the encrypted Chrome Sync copy using the extension’s synchronization settings. A JSON export is not encrypted and should be kept secure. Deletions of local data do not necessarily remove old offline exports or copies already synced to other devices; Chrome Sync propagation depends on Chrome. You can choose never to enable sync.

8. Security and limitations

REPRISE uses browser extension storage and built-in Web Crypto encryption for optional sync. It does not save website passwords, cookies or unfinished form entries for restoration. Reading-position restoration is best effort and may not work on every website.

9. Chrome Web Store Limited Use disclosure

REPRISE’s use of information obtained from Chrome APIs is limited to providing or improving the user-facing features described in its Chrome Web Store listing. The publisher does not sell or transfer this information for targeted advertising or unrelated purposes, and does not allow people to access it except as required by applicable law, for security, or with the user’s explicit consent for support, consistent with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy.

10. Changes and contact

This policy may be updated when REPRISE’s features or data practices change. Any material changes to data handling will be communicated as required. For privacy inquiries, contact REPRISE@facillify.com.
